(Sorry for Delay) Here's my thoughts on Pretty Little Liars the first book.
Spencer Covets her sister's boyfriend. Aria's Fantasizing about her english teacher. Emily's crushing on a new girl at school. Hanna uses some ugly tricks to stay beautiful. But they've all kept an even bigger secret since their friend Alison vanished. How do I know? Because I know everything about the bad girls they were, the naughty girls they are, and all the dirty secrets they've kept. And guess what? I'm telling. --A

The characters in this book are very diverse, which makes it nice to read. Say you're currently getting annoyed with a character, well in the next chapter it follows another completely different character. That's always a plus in my opinion. Aria was, in my opinion, down to earth more so than the other characters. I won't give away spoilers, but like the description said, she falls for her english teacher. Spencer was the brainiac that you often felt sorry for. Once you read you'll find out why. Emily is struggling with her sexuality a bit. She really likes a new girl from school, but feels she still likes guys. Hanna is the new "it" girl of the school. So she has to do everything to stay on top, but that can be very risky when you do what she's doing.
The plot was very cool, I love how she made it suspenseful and on the edge of your seats feeling. The writing style was good, but I thought she would write it in first person with all the characters instead of third person omniscent, although I believe there is a reason for why she did that. No big deal though. When I was recommended this book I will admit I was shaky because I thought it would be a non-stop girly book. I was wrong for the most part. Honestly, there isn't that many girly parts in the story, except maybe Hanna's parts. The rest of the characters can be, but not so much. So I would recommend this to guys that are open minded and to any female. Overall, this was a very good book, I will be checking out the rest of Sara shepard's books in the series. Good Job Sara! Go buy it, anyone who hasn't!
